There were delays at Punta Gorda Airport today because Allegiant Air was hit by some computer problems. The problems started around 5:30 this morning, with lines forming around the ticket counters, as computers used for check-in, were off line. By noon, Allegiant staff were handling processing without computer help. Flights were delayed, but none canceled. Some of the passenger back up was due to Allegiant’s success, with passenger counts at Punta Gorda Airport up 63% from what they were a year ago to just over 52,000.
