Charlotte County’s Board of Commissioners wants to know what you think about the possibility of extending the 1% Local Option Sales Tax. It expires at the end of the year. NBC2 reports Commissioners have a meeting at 2p.m. July 15th at the Administration Center to hear from you. They’re expected to consider ordinances for referendums to extend the life of the tax, which has been used to fund various infrastructure projects since it was first adopted in 1994. The tax has also been used to offset state and federal budget cuts.
