New test scores aren’t good news for Charlotte County Public Schools. NBC2 reports the numbers are so bad,the state of the school district’s been labeled “alarming.” None of the county’s schools got an ‘A,’ and the district got an average rating overall. School district officials say they expected the bad news, and they say part of the problem is $41-million in budget cuts the district had to make due to state funding cuts, coupled with 34 changes the state made in its grading system.
