A Punta Gorda man was arrested this morning after crashing his car into an empty building. NBC2 reports it happened in the Colonial Burnt Store Promenade Plaza around 10:30 a.m. Officers say a white Ford van, driven by Daniel Bindl, crashing into the back of an empty retail store. According to a witness, Bindl removed empty wine bottles from his vehicle and threw them into a nearby dumpster before police arrived. Bindl was arrested for Driving under the Influence after failing a field sobriety test.
