It’s listed as one of the best places in the nation to retire.   NBC2 reports the magazine ranks cities on a number of qualities that retirees often look for.  Punta Gorda got high marks thanks to its waterfront parks and properties, 18 miles of bike paths and a number of free perks – including parking, boat launches and the city’s loaner bike program.  Real estate here’s also substantially less expensive than in other coastal U.S. cities.  Englewood made the list of top spots to stop and smell the roses in “Where to Retire” magazine last year.
