To decrease the risk of wildfire and increase the quality and health of our natural ecosystems, Charlotte County Parks and Natural Resources Division is planning prescribed burns at Charlotte Flatwoods Environmental Park, Tippecanoe II Scrub-jay Preserve and Tippecanoe Environmental Park. The burns may occur any time in December through February, and as soon as today. Actual dates are dependent upon specific weather conditions and other considerations. Visitors to the properties should avoid areas where smoke and/or fire can be seen, as well as areas that are posted as closed.
