After months of chilly negotiations, the co-owners of Warm Mineral Springs — North Port and Sarasota County — now say they have a roadmap to reopen the attraction. Nonetheless, even a best-case scenario would likely keep the popular spot closed for several more months. Sarasota County commissioners voted Tuesday to search for a short-term operator who would manage the springs until September, at the latest. By then, they want a long-term operator ready to take over. Monday, the North Port City Commission suggested the city and county proceed with a hydrological study of the springs and take several other steps. The county agreed with much of the plan.
