The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is joining with Books-a-Million and Yogurt Mountain in supporting the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch at a “Bookfair” this Saturday.

The Port Charlotte Books-a-Million and Yogurt Mountain, located at 1825 Tamiami Trail in the Village Market Place, are hosting the Bookfair and will be donating a portion of their proceeds to the benefit of the Youth Ranch.

The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch is a charitable, non-profit corporation that operates several facilities throughout Florida to help troubled youth. Their mission is to “prevent delinquency and develop strong, lawful, resilient and productive citizens.”

Youth Ranch personnel and a resident will be there to answer questions about life on the ranch. Sheriff Bill Prummell will be on hand, along with the Sheriff’s helicopter, members of the SWAT team, members of the K9 Unit and members of Post 29 Sheriff’s Office Explorers.

The Bookfair events run from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday September 28.
