Venice firemedics responded to a call around 8:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, when a 14-year-old boy playing football at Wellfield was injured. After assessing the injuries, the Fire Department personnel arranged for Bayflite to transport the patient to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg with a paramedic onboard, where he was transferred to All Children’s Hospital.
