The Sheriff’s Office’s Street Crimes Unit arrested two brothers Thursday who were driving separate vehicles on similar traffic-related and drug-related charges.

Members of the Street Crimes Unit spotted two vehicles travelling in the area of U.S. 41 and Enterprise Drive. One vehicle, a silver Chevrolet, did not have a tag on it. The other vehicle, a black Ford, had an obscured tag and what appeared to be tint that was too dark.

They stopped the vehicles and found that the drivers, Kyle Richard Willeke, 23, of 4809 Boston Terrace in North Port, and Jessie Dean Willeke, 24, of 1146 Strasburg Drive in Port Charlotte, were brothers. They also found that both Kyle and Jessie had their driving privileges suspended.

Deputies speaking with Kyle found that he was unable to produce proof of insurance nor did he have a registration for the Chevrolet. They checked the vehicle’s tinted windows with a tint meter and found the tint to be above the legal limit. Kyle was placed under arrest for Unregistered Motor Vehicle, No Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance and Driving on a Suspended Driver’s License.

After Kyle was arrested, deputies searching him found a plastic baggie on the ground near his feet. Inside the baggie were four Oxycodone pills and 15 Hydromorphone pills. He was also charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Paraphernalia.

When Jessie was being searched after being placed under arrest for Driving on a Suspended Driver’s License, they found three Oxycodone pills in a folded-up piece of paper in his pocket. Jessie was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Paraphernalia. Because Jessie was on probation at the time, he was also charged with Violation of Probation.

Both Kyle and Jessie were issued traffic citations related to their tags and the window tint. They were transported to the Charlotte County Jail on the criminal charges. Kyle was released on a $9,500 bond. Jessie was being held without bond pending his First Appearance hearing.
