The City of North Port and the Sarasota County Commission have agreed to offer a short-term lease to a company to run the Warm Mineral Springs. The Herald-Tribune reports that’s not expected to stop the springs from closing at the end of the month due to the time it’ll take to advertise and pick a new firm to run it. The county and city have clashed on how the springs should be managed and developed and whether it should be taxpayer-owned. The current operator got fed up with the feuding and decided it was no longer interested in being involved and announced its’ departure at the end of the month.
