North Port city officials have changed their minds again and say they will try to buy out Sarasota County’s half-interest in the Warm Mineral Springs, and unilaterally negotiate a new lease with the concessionaire that runs the popular swimming destination and spa. The County says the city can’t do that without their consent, and the two sides haven’t been able to agree on much about the Springs over the last six months. The County Commission will discuss the latest twist next Tuesday. Warm Mineral Springs’ the only one of its kind in Florida.
