The City of North Port, along with the North Port Area Chamber of Commerce and the North Port Library, will host a North Port Newcomer Day from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 4, 2013.

Newcomer Day features information tables throughout the entire library run by many of the City’s departments and divisions, along with community groups and organizations. It is designed to be a time when new residents of North Port, including those considering moving to the City, can come and peruse the tables, talk to representatives, and learn about this up-and-coming community. The North Port Area Chamber of Commerce organizes information tables with businesses inside the Julianna Room.

The quarterly event can draw more than 75 businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies. On average, more than 200 people attend this event.

“We get people who are newcomers to North Port as well as those who have lived her for a long time,” said Community Outreach Manager Erin Bryce. “It’s a great opportunity to learn how you can get involved in the community and the types of services that are out there.”
