(PUNTA GORDA) Anyone who would like to attend the Civilian Gun Safety Course has two opportunities coming up, but you must act quickly for one of them.
According to Sgt. Greg Kalosis, there are still openings available for the course being taught tomorrow, Saturday April 27. The class runs from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the CCSO training building at 25500 Airport Road in Punta Gorda.
Another similar course is scheduled for Saturday May 18 at the same location and same times.
You need to bring your firearm along with 50 rounds of ammunition (no reloads). Completion of this gun safety course can meet one of the requirements for a concealed weapons permit. Hearing and eye protection will be provided.
To register for either course, please call Sgt. Kalosis at (941) 575-5367. Participants must be pre-registered, so if you want to attend the April 27 course, you need to call today. The cost of the course is $35, payable by check or money order to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
