The Florida State Attorney General’s office has filed two misdemeanor charges against former State Trooper of the Year Edward Pope. Pope’s accused of giving false information during an FDLE investigation. WINK reports Trooper Pope was named Florida’s Trooper of the Year in 2007, and in 2011 Pope ran for sheriff in Charlotte County. Last month, Pope was on the scene when a woman crashed into a canal, and he pulled her to safety.
