The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 44-year old Christine Patterson of Sarasota for Practicing Medicine without a License after a patient complained that she performed a post-operative procedure on her following cosmetic surgery. Authorities say a patient complained of swelling a couple of days after having a procedure. The doctor was out of town at the time, and investigators say Patterson inserted a drain to remove excess fluid. Investigators say Patterson’s a medical biller and office manager, and the doctor is her brother. Patterson is being held without bond, and barred from contact any of the doctor’s patients or the practice.
