CCSO says a 36-year-old woman faces a child abuse charge after allegedly hit her 15-year-old son while hanging out at a party. The Charlotte Sun reports the Sheriff’s office says the mother, identified as Sebrina Norton of Punta Gorda, then called authorities after he wouldn’t come home. A sheriff’s spokesperson says Norton first called deputies around 2a.m. Saturday reporting her son wouldn’t come from from a party at what’s called them ‘mud pit,’ off Green Gulf Boulevard in Punta Gorda. A deputy went to the pit but couldn’t find the boy.
