The Manatee and Sarasota County Commissions today gave the green light to their respective administrators to explore a joint transportation system’s potential. They’re also looking into whether or not one company could be considered to run both operations. The boards have also talked about a joint effort to add new routes, which could include a run along U.S. 41, linking downtown Bradenton and downtown Sarasota. Both Commissions are also showing an interest in a new radio communication network as current systems approach obsolescence.
