A Charlotte County convenience store owner is frustrated after investigators arrested one of his clerks and raided his store.

It happened at Tom’s Discount Convenience Store on Cooper Street.

Investigators say employee, Nadi Jabari, sold contact lenses to an undercover ATF officer.

According to reports, the contact lenses were marked with an Rx which requires a prescription to sell them. But the store owner says they are cosmetic lenses which they’ve sold for years.

“I became paranoid about everything I sell in my store. I need to maybe ask all law enforcement what I can sell and what I cannot sell because I’m worried about my business in general. I mean it is scary,” said store owner Taher Shriteh.

The owner says he ordered the lenses from a Texas-based company. He says he did not know a license or prescription was required to sell them.
