Two brush fires were reported in Charlotte County today, one of them is in Punta Gorda, and burned around 400 acres. The other is near 195 Jade Street in Rotonda West, and burned about 70 acres. Boca Grande Fire Department, Florida Forest Service and Sarasota County Fire were called out to handle that one. Deputies did evacuate some of the homes in that area.
