Walmart’s getting slammed again. This time it’s over the retail giants plans for a new 41,000 square foot grocery store at Bee Ridge and Beneva Roads in Sarasota County. Just a week ago, the Herald-Tribune reports angry residents convinced the COunty Commission to reject Walmart’s plans for a supercenter on Ringling Boulevard. Traffic was the big issue for residents in the Ringling proposal, and it’s expected the same arguments will be made to the County Commission tomorrow. Bee Ridge is a heavily traveled 6-lane interstate connector, and the Beneva Road intersection is already one of the busiest in the county.
