Less than three months ago, Hurricane Sandy slammed into the coasts of New York and New Jersey leaving thousands homeless and in need of help. So one local woman organized a collection to help storm victims, however, there’s been a roadblock in getting the supplies up north. But the two tons of donated supplies aren’t in the northeast; they’re in a storage building here. Bonnie Provo, the organizer of Sarasota Cares, says all of the truck drivers who originally committed to take the load north have backed out.
