CCSO Major Crimes Unit detectives busted 24-year old Branden Shaffer of Punta Gorda man early this morning for allegedly pointing a rifle at a woman and demanding money during a home invasion robbery attempt last night in the 26000 block of Sandhill Boulevard in Deep Creek. Shaffer’s charged with Home Invasion Robbery with a Firearm, and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. He’s being held in the Charlotte County Jail without bond. The couple in the home refused to give Shaffer any money.
