The political action committee backed by Sarasota City Commissioner Terry Turner and other prominent business leaders is being investigated to see if any Florida elections laws were violated. The PAC behind the so-called “strong city manager amendment” is being investigated for multiple violations including failure to file multiple reports and to disclose donations and contributions, according to correspondence from the Florida Elections Commission. The president and treasurer of the PAC have denied skirting laws.
