Sarasota County Public schools could join more than three dozen others opposing a state amendment on the November 6th ballot. The Florida Religious Freedom Amendment would end the state’s ban on giving taxpayer money to religious institutions. Those in favor of it and those against it disagree on whether the intent of Amendment 8 is to create a voucher system that could reduce the amount of money public schools get. The Sarasota school board votes on it at its meeting tommorrow night.
