Defense attorneys attacking the testimony of the only apparent eyewitness to a January murder in Sarasota. Shalonda Roberson testified that she was just a few feet away when defendant Roy Couran gunned down Jeff Hill on a Newtown porch in January. Roberson identified Couran as the shooter but Couran’s attorneys say she couldn’t,’t accurately describe the assailant and gave conflicting statements to police about what Couran looked like. Prosecutors say she did I-D Couran as the gunman and that the right man is on trial.
