An officer at the Charlotte Correctional Institute has been arrested for allegedly trying to steal an iPad from a big box electronics store. Deputies say Corrections Lieutenant Kevin Monroe picked up an iPad at a Best Buy store on Veterans Boulevard, took it into a rest room, slipped it inside his pants and left the store. Monroe was allegedly identified on surveillance camera video. Reports say another employee at Charlotte Correctional Institution identified Monroe from the video. He’s now being charged with grand theft.
