Charllotte County Deputies Participate In Homeland Security Training
More than two dozen local deputies received homeland security training last week. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team (ERT) attended a week-long Field Force Training course offered by the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) in Anniston, Alabama. The CDP is operated by the United States Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency and is the only federally-chartered Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) training facility in the nation. The training is a part of ongoing preparation for the 2012 Republican National Convention, which will be held in August in Tampa.
