An eight-and-a-half hour standoff between a Charlotte County Sheriff’s SWAT unit and a woman who fired shots at officers ended around two-fifteen this morning. Deputies say they were able to enter a house in the 17-thousand block of Foremost Lane in Port Charlotte and arrest a woman who had been holed up there since six o’clock last night. That’s when officers responding to a welfare check were fired at and the standoff began. Now, 34-year-old Lisa Kristopolus has been arrested and charged with Shooting Into An Occupied Dwelling and Strangulation. Officers subdued her after firing tear gas into the house over a two hour span.
