Venice is a baseball championship city. The Venice High School Indians defeated Brandon four to two yesterday to win the first FSHAA Class 7-A state championship. The game played at the Mets’ spring training field in Port St. Lucie. It’s the second state baseball title for Venice, which last won in 2007 when the title tilt was played at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota. The Indians finish their season 24-and-eight. Quite a run to the championship and all of it on the road for the Venice High School Indians.
