A vehicle-bicycle accident in Sarasota closed down a street for some time earlier today and sent the bike rider to a hospital. Police say the bicyclist suffered major injuries, although further details about those injuries is not yet available. The accident happened around nine-thirty this morning on Mound Street between Orange Avenue and U-S 41. The bicyclist was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in Sarasota. Southbound Mound Street was closed for some time as officers investigated.
