An undercover operation last month by Sarasota County deputies resulted in seventeen citations for selling alcohol to minors. Investigators checked out sixty business in the county that sold alcohol. They say that clerks at seventeen convenience stores sold beer or other alcohol to underage purchasers. The seventeen have all been issued citations. Officers quick to point out that an additional 43 stores were sent commendation letters because they wouldn’t sell to underage buyers.
