A plea deal in a fatal shooting in Port Charlotte a year ago. Authorities say 31-year-old Joseph Salmon, who was originally charged with second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, accepted a plea deal that will see him serve less than six years in prison. Salmon pleading no-contest now to an accessory-after-the-fact to second degree murder rap. Police said the shooting death of 40-year-old Joseph Bennett of North Port happened January 23rd after a Port Charlotte drug deal went sour.
