Sarasota County sheriff’s investigators said an unknown 88 year old was walking northbound across the westbound lanes on US 41 (State Road 45). That’s when the vehicle that Richard Alan Danhausen of North Port was driving, heading straight on US 41 hit the pedestrian. Danhausen was not hurt, but the pedestrian was killed. Danhausen’s car ended up on the right shoulder of the road and the pedestrian ended up in the turn lane of 41.
