A Sarasota woman is recovering after she was hurt in a crash on Saturday night.
Police say 23 year old Morgan Wallace was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St Petersburg in critical condition after the car in which she was riding slammed into a tree. Florida Highway Patrol said the driver, Brett Prechiney was eastbound on Fruitville Road near Laurie Lane when he swerved to avoid a possum in the roadway. His car sent off the road, the rotated crossed the road and hit the tree. The 23 year old Prechiney had minor injuries, treated and released from the hospital then issued a citation for careless driving.
