(PUNTA GORDA) Charlotte County Sheriff’s detectives Thursday made the final two arrests of four Charlotte High School students involved in a 10 p.m. Halloween incidents of “egging” and then throwing a hard object from a car in the community of Deep Creek. Detectives arrested Davion Dominique “Fatboy” Stuarts, 18, 532 Burland Street, Punta Gorda, at 5:30 p.m., and Jarrod Tremain “JT” Evans, 16, 458 Milus, Punta Gorda at 10:50 p.m.
The driver of the car, Quentin Alexander Griffin, 16, 3050 Broadpoint Drive, Harbour Heights, was arrested Monday night; Ma’queale Keionte “Boogaloo” Lattimore, 16, of 25256 Derringer Place, Deep Creek, was arrested Tuesday evening. All four have been charged with felony Principal to Throwing a Deadly Missile.
The four teens began their Halloween vandalism by throwing eggs from the car in Deep Creek, but it got out of hand when Stuarts threw a hard object at an oncoming truck that scraped the hood, then smashed the windshield and damaged a roof light. The victim, his girlfriend and a 1-year old baby were uninjured. Deputies said the object was capable of causing great bodily harm or possibly even death.
The victim made a U-turn with his truck and caught up to the fleeing car. A pickup pulled out in front of the Griffin’s car and he collided with it; the pursuing victim’s truck was unable to stop then slammed into the rear of Griffin’s car in the three vehicle accident. All four got out of the car and fled the scene; however, the victim caught Griffin and detained him until deputies arrived. CCSO deputies, K9, and helicopter searched the area for two hours but were unable at that time to locate the other three who fled the scene.
Juveniles Griffin, Lattimore, and Evans were all released from the Charlotte County Jail and are now on 21 days home detention. Stuarts, an adult, posted a $5,000 bond and was released Friday morning.
