The search for a new Sarasota County Commissioner has been ongoing for months with no final candidate in sight. Now, County Commissioners are wondering why the headhunter firm they hired to help fill the post is taking so long. Commissioners saying the hunt has turned sluggish and that the executive search firm employed by the county — Mercer Group of Atlanta — needs to start producing candidates for the job. The County selected Mercer for the search back in June but already concerns were being voiced about a previous effort by the company for the City of Sarasota that some considered was not well handled.
