TEENS BUSTED FOR GARDENS OF GULF COVE BREAK-IN

TWO PORT CHARLOTTE TEENS WERE ARRESTED AFTER CHARLOTTE COUNTY DETECTIVES DETERMINED THEY BROKE INTO A GARDENS OF GULF COVE HOME MONDAY AFTERNOON.  DEPUTIES SAY THE OWNER OF THE HOME ON KEVITT BOULEVARD CALLED THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE TO REPORT THE THEFT OF A HANDGUN, RIFLE, SHOTGUN, AND A FLAT SCREEN TV.  HE TOLD DETECTIVES THAT A FEMALE, WHO WAS LATER IDENTIFIED AS 17 YEAR OLD AZARIA DAGENAIS, CAME TO HIS DOOR LAST WEDNESDAY AND NEEDED TO CALL HER BOYFRIEND, LATER IDENTIFIED AS 19 YEAR OLD NICKOLAS SCHARMBERG, SINCE HER CELL PHONE WAS BROKEN.  SCHARMBERG TALKED TO THE HOME OWNER, WHO HAPPENS TO BE A CONTRACTOR, AND SET UP A MEETING IN A PORT CHARLOTTE HOME ON MONDAY.  WHEN THE HOMEOWNER ARRIVED, ONLY THE GIRL WAS THERE AND SAID HER BOYFRIEND COULDN’T MAKE IT.  THAT’S WHEN THE HOMEOWNER RETURNED AND FOUND THE ITEMS STOLEN.  DETECTIVES SET UP SURVEILLANCE AT THE TWO TEENS HOME AND BUSTED THEM WITH THE GOODS.  BOTH WERE CHARGED WITH FOUR COUNTS OF FELONY GRAND THEFT OF A FIREARM AND ONE COUNT OF ARMED BURGLARY.  SCHARMBERG REMAINS IN THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY JAIL ON A $20,000 DOLLAR BOND, WHILE DEGENAIS WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE JUSTICE IN FORT MYERS.  DETECTIVES SAY THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.
